When Your Feeling "All Done In"

When I was growing up, we'd visit my Granny and Pop in Virginia frequently. They lived on a farm that seemed so vast and full of adventure to a town girl like me. My grandparents had twelve children, and when we came to visit, all the family would gather-what a crowd! I remember after a long day, my granny would sink into her rocker and say "I'm all done in!" That's how I've been feeling lately, just plain tired-physically, spiritually and emotionally.

I'd like to share with you the devotion I read today-by Beth Moore.

Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength.- Ephesians 6:10

Our victory is sure, but the fight will be difficult. Hear your Commander as He exhorts you to do the following:

1. Realize your natural limitations. We cannot enjoy spiritual victory without calling on the power of God. We are only strong when we are "strengthened by the Lord and his vast strength."

2. Remember the "full armor" (v.11). After at least 6,000 years of practice on human targets, your enemy won't waste arrows on well-armed places. He will aim for the spots you and I leave uncovered. I know it from experience.

3. Recognize your real enemies. The struggle of warfare does not originate in spouses, in-laws, neighbors, coworkers, or any earthly foe. Spiritual forces of evil exist. Not every problem we have is warfare, of course. Sometimes we need to repent from sin. Other times, however, we must fortify against the evil one.

4. Realize our enemies limitations. Satan and his powers and principalities cannot do anything they want with us. Walk in the freedom of knowing that when you received Christ, God dropped His Holy Spirit in you, slammed the lid, and tightened the cap!
